Hello at MILA!

Good food at good prices.
Sustainable together.

MILA briefly explained

We are a co-operative with more than 1,000 members and jointly run a supermarket in Vienna’s 12th district. We offer more than 2,500 products for daily needs on over 350m². And what’s more: MILA does business differently to large corporations.

Our philosophy: high-quality, many organic, regional and unpackaged foods as well as affordable conventional and international products at good prices. Fair to the environment, animals and nature.

And the secret of the good prices? All members only work 3 hours a month – this reduces costs and makes quality affordable for everyone.

Vielfalt Mader - Stadtlandwirtschaft

Organic vegetable variety that we love. There are almost 100 different types of vegetables throughout the year. The market garden opposite the Donau-Auen National Park switched to organic farming in 1996. A considerable variety of organic vegetables is now cultivated on two hectares.

NoCap - C.E.I.R. Cooperativa A R.L.

At MILA: peeled tomatoes in a tin, passata in a bottle, various tomato sauces in a jar. Labour ethics and ecological sustainability can be found in every tomato here. NoCap is an Italian initiative that fights against the Mafia-style exploitation of mostly African harvest workers. The organic tomatoes and thus the products of the Cooperativa make an important contribution to this work and stand for solidarity and humane agricultural labour.
